Auckland Beaches

From the wild west coast to the tranquil beaches on the east you're surprisingly spoilt for choice for beaches within the Auckland region. If you've got your own wheels you'll be able to drive out to many of the secluded coves and bays in the east and to the black sandy beaches on the west. If you don't have your own wheels, jump on public transport to one of the city beaches - Mission Bay, St Heliers, Devonport or Takapuna. Each has golden sandy beaches with vibrant promenades of buzzing cafes, cosy restaurants and shops.

Auckland Cafes, Restaurants & Bars

Auckland's cafe, restaurant and bar scene has grown in recent years, the harbourfront is now an idyllic city spot for a glass of NZ wine or a bite to eat whilst looking out at the sail boats on the sparkling water. Some of NZ's best coffee can be found in small boutique cafes dotted along the streets and in hidden laneways. Take a short bus ride to bustling Ponsonby where you'll find a plethora of cuisine ranging from casual eats to fine dining, or party until the wee hours of the morning in one of the many bars!

Auckland Museum & Domain Park

One of the most historical buildings in Auckland sits proudly atop a volcanic cone in the large city park - The Domain. It's Auckland Museum; home to the arts, culture and heritage exhibitions of the New Zealand people, here you'll learn all about the flora and fauna, early pacific life and get up close and personal to traditional Maori architecture. After, take a stroll around the vast park and enjoy the flower gardens, wintergarden and duck ponds.
AKL Rangitoto

Climb a Volcano

Yes, Auckland has volcanoes! 48 of them to be precise, in what's lovingly known as 'The Ring of Fire', luckily they haven't erupted in hundreds of years so you're pretty safe! These cones provide a unique landscape and some pretty epic views, so if you're feeling energetic try walking up one, or if you're not down with the hike you can get to some by driving up. The most popular for sweeping views, awesome sunsets and within easy reach of the city are Mt Eden, Rangitoto, One Tree Hill and Mt Victoria.
AKL skytower

Skytower

This icon of the Auckland City skyline is the tallest tower in Australasia which has some of the best views over the city and the water. This striking structure which can be seen far and wide across Auckland has glass fronted lifts taking you to the viewing deck, a cafe and a 360 degree revolving restaurant. If you're feeling adventurous take on the SkyWalk - a walk around the tower 192 metres up! For the full on adrenaline junkies, you can SkyJump off the edge....attached to a wire of course!

Walking & Hiking

Exploring Auckland's walking trails in the inner city as well as in the outer regional parks is a must do activity whilst you're here. The inner city walks will take you through laneways, past historical building and spacious parks. If you've rented a car from us, or have your own transport head out to one of the regional parks, notably the Waitakere Ranges in the West with it's waterfalls, streams, impressive lookouts and native bush as well as the Hunua Ranges in the south east with a stunning waterfall and lush forest.
